Klabu ya mpira wa vikapu ya Savio ya Upanga, Don Bosco jijini Dar es salaam imechukua ubingwa wa taifa.

Hii ni baada ya kuifunga timu ya jeshi ABC vikapu 77 kwa 66 kwenye fainali iliyofanyika jumapili ya tarehe 15 ndani ya uwanja wa taifa wa mpira wa vikapu.

Amini Mntambo wa Savio mwenye jezi namba 14 ndiye mchezaji bora wa ligi.

Michuano hiyo ilianza tarehe 7 Mei 2016 na jana jumapili ndiyo ilikuwa ni kilele chake.

Savio kwa mara ya kwanza walishiriki mashindano haya yaliyofanyika Tanga mwaka 2005 ambapo fainali walikutana na timu ya jeshi ya JKT na kuwafunga.

Savio kupitia ligi hii ya taifa wameshachukua ubingwa huu zaidi ya mara 5.

Walichukua ubingwa miaka mitatu mfululizo mwaka 2009/2010, 2010/2011, 2011/2012.

Sasa wamefuzu kucheza Zone 5 na kuiwakilisha nchi katika mashindano ya Afrika Mashariki na Kati yatakayofanyika mwanzoni mwa mwezi Agosti. (BBC)

"DENVER NUGGETS" ( UNITED NATIONS PRIMARY SCHOOL) STILL UNBEATEN IN NBA JR LEAGUE

It is among the two teams which still keep the clean record of not loosing even a single game in the ongoing NBA JR League. 

The league that brings together kids from different "primary schools" of Dar es Salaam is taking place every weekend at JMK Sports' park.

DENVER (the name that was given to UN P/R SCHOOL) is known for its flamboyant game skills that attract so many fans and so make it a favorite team to carry the trophy home.

These kids who under Don Bosco are so enthusiastic and resilient despite some hiccups that characterize the tournament.

Don Bosco Upanga wishes them all the best as they celebrate their talents with other 'junior' players.

AILALA:
 His grandmother came to our center. Asking him to balance between studies and sports. Indeed he follows grans advice and he is doing well in both areas. He is our big man.

 SALIM; 
He finds a new family at Don Bosco. His most beautiful moments are those he spends at the center. His parents allow him to play basketball only if he goes home on time. He is our point guard and actually the best in ankle breaking cross overs. 

 ABUU:
We saw him growing from point one. He is now one of the best point guards in our team. We are helping him to play while concentrating with his studies. His father has another goals for him. He does not believe on sports as one of the best way to nurture a child for the best. We are trying to enlighten the father on this.

 KHAMIS
He loves basketball with all his heart, and all his mind. His mother once told us that her son think of Don Bosco most of his time. He even let go some of his meals to get to the train on time. he is the best shooter we have in the team. 

 DAUD
The team captain, a good boy with determination. he has been able to balance between studies and sports. He was once denied permission to attend training except on weekends. However after two weeks of ban he was allowed to attend a full session program. He is our big man and a three pointer.

 SAMATTA
All the way from Gongolamboto to Upanga. The fact that he travels such long distance is because he has found a home away from home. As a captain; has shown leadership qualities rarely to be seen even by the of age. His passion for the  game has been an instrument for their unbeaten record.

 TONNY 
Young and Strong, ever smile even when the training is so tough. That's how we can describe little Antony. since he joined the junior team has shown tremendous growth.  his ability to play different positions has been a key note to his coaches to give him more opportunity. "  I feel very bad when i miss the game with my friends" he always says.  

VALERIAN
He is so gentle and generous. His being to the team brings about the spirit of togetherness among the teammates. He is loved by his teammates because of his loving kindness and of his 'third' eye of concern to others. He is our best shooting guard.  

 AUSTIN
Very cool and eager to learn. He likes 'one on one' for he says through that he get to know his individual ability on ball handling. He is also talented in other sports such as roll ball and Bike Balancing. He is slow by steady in the game and so his coach knows when to let him in.

 SEIPH
Master Seiph is know for his humility and obedience. His talents has made him so humble that he gets a lot of people to teach him one or two things and so perfecting his ball skills. As per now he is a team mover. 

 NICO
'A Dribbler' fast and accurate in three point. His unique way of  playing has moved the fans so much that they nicknamed him "curry". for the two previous game he made the fans to chant a refrain comparing him to an MVP Steve Curry of GSW.

 KASSIM
The tallest player in the team, at fourteen years he is already 6+ inches. The beauty is that he is in love with the game and he does it so well. we have been encouraged by his ability on courts and during  train. If he keeps his good spirit the world will see him playing in the international arena.

Master RICHARD OYARO  'akuku' 

'RICH' is a short form of  RICHARD,  a name of a young sportsperson who died of colon cancer on the same date in the year 2014. 

      Richard or 'Akuku' as he was known by many died at Kenyatta Hospital at the age of 14. A year after his death, his closer friends proposed today to be a special day for his remembrance and prayer.

     We remember him for his outstanding character and so being a good example for other children who lived with him. 

     He was gifted in sports as well as in studies. As we mark this day we also pray for many children who are suffering from cancer especially colon cancer that in their pain they may be strengthened by God who is their loving father. 

We love you bro. RIP.

TRAINING

Being a public holiday,  our basketball junior players came early in the morning  for a serious training session.  The session which lasted for four ours included several new attacking drills and dribbling drills for beginners. 

WELCOMING NEW FRIENDS

today also we were happy to receive at the center three more children who are willing to join basketball training. They could not hide their joy after we welcome them, they say "at last we have found the best training place we have been looking for so long.." The three whoa re coming from Masaki, Mwananyamala and Kurasini have started simple exercises on ball handling.

 After a refreshment we took our young players 'out' where we had fan with many other children. it was indeed a day well spent.

TODAY BSN BRINGS TOGETHER JUNIOR SOCCER PLAYERS FOR "JUNIORS SOCCER EXCHANGE"

BSN  Mbagala Youth Academy One of the teams that will take part in the junior soccer exchange. They have something special "a blend of talents, professionalism and techniques instilled to them by Mr. Bilanga.

Juniors Soccer Exchange is an event that brings together soccer player from BSN junior teams from all our centers. It is occasion in which they meet as friends with similar interests (ball) to get to know each other and to appreciate each others' talents. Today we expect 200 junior player to represent the 10 BSN centers of Dar es salaam. The event will take place at Don Bosco Youth Centre Upanga (Home Ground). The centers that have confirm participation are Mbagala Youth Center, Bosco Jr. (Taifa), DYSA, Don Bosco (Upanga), Rock Stars (Kinondoni) Mbagala Kibulugwa, and Bosco Azimio.
